A few of my beauties

Crystals have been used by tribes all over the world for many years for their therapeutic and healing properties. For example Baltic Amber amulets can be traced as far back as 30,000 years ago. Each different type of crystal has a unique structure which causes it to resonate at a certain frequency. These frequencies are what give it the beneficial properties. 

Crystals come in many shapes and sizes. There's tumble stones which are literally as the name suggests. They are put into a machine and tumbled until the crystals are smooth. 

You can also get wands with pointy ends. These can be used during healing practices such as Reiki. You can also use wands to charge your other crystals as the point enables the energy to flow directly. 

I love crystals in their true form, un-tumbled and un-carved. I think it gives more of a connection with mother nature due to there being no middle man messing with it.

I love my little crystal collection and feel lost when I don't have one round my neck. I thought I'd share with you our favourite crystals and would love it if you commented with your favourite crystal and what draws you to it.

Selenite 

My Selenite pieces

I absolutely adore Selenite. It contains feminine energy and can be used to connect with angelic or spirit guides. It's name comes from the Greek Goddess of the moon, Selene. 

This is such a beautiful crystal which has a frosted pearly white colour. It really is quite beautiful to look at as well as being amazing to hold. Perhaps as it's made up of 70% water is the reason it has such a soft feel to it, it actually reminds me of frosty ice shards. 

I was initially drawn to this crystal due to the it's properties. It boasts extremely high vibrations and can help to bring light from the higher realms into the physical body therefore helping with personal transformation and healing on all levels. The frequencies from Selenite are so powerful it absorbs any negative energy which surrounds it. This can benefit us by helping to clear the mind. As an added bonus this beautiful crystal directs high frequency energy into the body stimulating spiritual, physical and emotional healing. 

To cleanse Selenite you should not put it in water as it can dissolve easily. This isn't really an issue as Selenite is so pure and elevated it doesn't need cleansing. In other words it doesn't store bad energy, it absorbs the negative vibrations and then transforms them into light. 

Lapis Lazuli

Lapis Lazuli is one of the oldest spiritual stones known to man. It's actually made up of a number of different minerals - mostly Lazurite, Pyrite, Calcite and Sodalite. This may be the reason why it's so powerful. It can even be traced back to 9,000 years and was used on King Tutankhamen golden mask.

 It is another one of our favourites. This is due to the strong energy coming from it as well as its amazing benefits. This is a good crystal to aid with concentration which is well needed when tackling written work. The colour is a stunning dark blue which represents honour. This fits in nicely with its other attributes such as it being a stone of friendship which helps to bring harmony to relationships. It is also known as a stone of truth as it brings honesty of the spirit. Spiritually this beautiful crystal can help to quickly release stress which can result in peace and serenity. 

Just like Selenite it assists with connecting with spirit guides due to it being a good connector of the celestial and physical plane.

The Autumn Equinox

Autumn Equinox

There are two equinoxes every year - in September and march. Its when the sun shines on the equator and the length of day and night is pretty much equal. That's why its called an equinox because its derived from the Latin meaning for 'equal night'.  The September equinox occurs the moment the sun crosses the celestial equator which invisible line in the sky above the earths equator. Right now in the Northern Hemisphere the sun is rising later and nightfall is coming sooner, our days are getting shorter and the leaves are going to start falling off the treas as autumn slips into season , creating a beautiful landscape of orange, yellow and red. 

 The autumn equinox signals the need to balance light and darkness within us. Buddhist 'Gary Thorp' in the book ' Caught in the fading light' teaches a wonderful story about accepting all situations where we are left in the dark without answers. 

"Once, when the Zen master Tokusan was still a student, he visited his teacher, Ryutan, just before sundown. They sat on the floor of Ryutan's hut, casually drinking tea and discussing Zen until deep into the night. At last, Ryutan said, 'Maybe it's about time you went home.' Tokusan bowed to his teacher and walked to the door. 'It's completely dark outside,' he said. Ryutan lit the lantern and said, 'Why not take this?' Just as Tokusan was about to take the lamp from his teacher's hands, Ryutan blew out the flame. Tokusan suddenly knew everything there was to know."

Thorp comments:   "Sometimes there is no remedy for our situation than to begin from a point of absolute darkness. Turning off a television set and extinguishing a lantern have certain similarities; they are both abrupt and transition making, and can leave us in a different world. In darkness, we are always on our own."

''Neuro Squees a compendium of strange and twisted sounds from Scandinavia'' If your a dj, you have to equip yourself with these beats and await the perfect time to twist peoples brains out with these kooky tunes. I don't think these are ideal for the faint heart-ed.

Re-Matter Presents 'Psykout'

What a wonderful night this was. Our venue, Suki10c was transformed into beautiful party zone with ultra violet scattered everywhere. The vibes were high and the crowd was awesome! Each artist presented us with the most spectacular inter-dimensional sounds that uplifted everyone onto another level!

Its really good to see an event focusing on the more ambient, chilled and dub side of psychedelic music. This event is the perfect place to chill out and socialize to some beautifully crafted music. You can catch Dj Iah and Bubblewrap from 8pm till late at the Alley Cafe in Nottingham.

Psy-tronic

This event is going to be huge! Psytrance, Goa, Acid, Hard Trance and Techno spread between two rooms in a really sweet venue in Nottingham called the Cookie club. We have also heard that they have added +1kw of extra bass in room one, so you will be missing out if you don't attend to this! Whether you like a hard or psychedelic stomp there is something here for you! If your lucky enough to get a flyer you can get in for £4 too! (£5 without)

Osmosis! 

 Not quite psytrance i know, but these guys are wonderfull! In 2004, when the big techno nights like Atomic jam, House of God, Inukshuk and THC were no were to be seen a group of good friends thought '' If no-one else is going to put on a night, maybe we should''. That's how the amazing Osmosis started. A little techno night showcasing local talent and a real passion for techno. This night is ideal to keep you stomping in between other nights and they have a wonderful following and a real nice family vibe! They are celebrating there 10th year running on the 17th of October. Its going to be a blast!

Super Moon!

Super Moon! 

 

On Monday night, if you look east after 7.17 pm you will see the final super lunar splendor of 2014. If you miss this you will have to wait until September 2015! The term "supermoon" refers to a full moon, or new moon, that happens a day either side of when the moon is at perigee (closest to earth). According to that definition, there will be six Supermoons in 2015.

Moon phases have a grate influence on our behavior and emotions and also natural elements like ocean tides. Astrologically speaking a Supermoon is an intensified New Moon or Full Moon. With a New Moon you often focus on personal beginnings, however when a Supermoon is involved those new beginnings will take on an even greater momentous tone. Emotions will be more intense than usual, meaning laughter and tears will come more easily and moods can suffer extreme swings. The Moons effects will be more focused on people with intensified energies like fathers, mothers, husbands, boyfriends, etc. Not all emotions will be negative and floods of love and happiness can wash over us too. Supermoons can have all of us getting in touch with our feminine sides.

We have an amazing line up that will get everyone bouncing and a set list crafted so the night flows like psychedelic water. We have our resident face painter in who does some crazy unique stuff and we also have a tea & cake stall with a huge range of different teas! Were also super exited to showcase our new art work we have purchased!
